Global Loneliness Awareness Week Resources (June)

Global Loneliness Awareness Week is June 9-15, 2025. Loneliness Awareness Week is an opportunity to empower everyone around the world to make connections. This year’s theme is “Meeting Loneliness Together”. Here are some ways Wisconsin communities plan to ‘meet loneliness together’ during this week in June.

  • Good Life Activity by Honey of the Heart Coaching. In your own words, what does it mean to live a good life? This fun, interactive, online-friendly, activity allows you to marinate on the question while exploring other areas of the heart.

  • CONNECTIONS” at Neighborhood House Community Center. Free drop-in program for anyone over the age of 50. Itinerary includes a social hour from 10am-12pm with coffee, conversation, and games/puzzles/newspapers; hot lunch served from 12-1pm; and rotating activities from 1-2pm on Wednesdays. Activities cater to different interests, such as service projects, Bingo, crafts, documentaries and seasonal projects.

  • Community Living Room by Ebb & Flow Connections Cooperative. The Community Living Room is a non-clinical, person-centered environment for people seeking social connection and emotional support. The primary objective of the Community Living Room is to utilize the concept of connection as a framework for prevention in a no-cost, community-based supportive space. We will be open Thursday, 6/11 from 3-8 PM and Saturday, 6/14 from 9-2 PM. Learn more.

  • Pop-Up Wisconsin Coalition for Social Connection Network Webinar. Join the Wisconsin Coalition for Social Connection (WCSC) during Global Loneliness Awareness Week (June 9-15) for an inspiring webinar on Brown County’s SPARK! program. • The Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging staff will participate in the Love For Our Elders letter writing campaign during our in-person staff meeting during Global Loneliness Awareness Week. Each of our staff will write a letter to connect with an older person and help to fulfill the campaign’s letter requests.

  • Around the Table – The Art of Food as Story. Join us in celebrating the artistry and narratives woven into the culinary heritage and gain a deeper appreciation for the stories that unfold around the table.

  • Story Exchange Circle – June 12, 2025 – for people with disabilities and caregivers to share how systems have failed or empowered them. This space will foster connection, validation, and transformation of lived experience into advocacy.
